Saturday 9th September in Newhaven was a beautifully sunny day with flat calm seas and a very sociable diving window (14:00 – 15:30 hours). The auntie and niece dive team were lucky to have (another) private charter 🤣 experience with a father and son team coxing(driving) the boat. A real family affair with our young divers dad helping shot the wreck first time (🍫 mars bar due).
The vis was promising at the surface and as we descended, at 10m, we saw the 🚢 shipwreck of the Clodemore laid out below us 😮😃, on the wreck the visibility was great, about 10m at a depth 23m. We swam to the stern of the wreck to see the ships large propellors, then made our way towards the bow. The 🐟 fish life was amazing 100’s of Pouting and Seabass. We saw a 🦞 lobster, 🦀 edible and spider crabs and small Goby’s. There were several conger eels then we saw a rare sight of at least five conger eels huddled in the same hole. A fabulous dive, the English Channel at it’s best.
